EXCLUSIVE OUT-OF-HOURS OF ‘IN THE BLACK FANTASTIC’ AT THE HAYWARD GALLERY

We are delighted to invite you to an exclusive private tour of the Hayward Gallery’s current exhibition In the Black Fantastic. The exhibition has received widespread celebration from critics across the cultural sector and has been enjoyed by visitors throughout the summer.

Curated by writer, curator and Chair of Fourth Plinth Ekow Eshun, the exhibition presents 11 contemporary artists from the African diaspora who draw on myth, science fiction, spiritual traditions and Afrofuturism in their work in order to explore Black identity, challenge social injustices, and question ways of being in the world. Encompassing painting, photography, video, sculpture and mixed-media installations, the exhibition creates immersive aesthetic experiences that bring the viewer into a new environment somewhere between the real world and a multiplicity of imagined ones.

This will be a special opportunity to see the exhibition outside of gallery hours, in the last week of the show’s run. We do hope you will be able to join us.
