Lucrezia Vinhaes, founder of the PIPA Institute kindly invites you to a conversation between curators Luiz Camillo Osorio and Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro on PIPA Prize history and new developments.
PIPA Prize is an initiative of PIPA Institute. It was created in 2010 and is one of the most relevant art prizes in Brazil, and its website is an important platform to research Brazilian contemporary today.
The talk will be hosted at Preview.art, founded in 2019 by, Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro, Matt Jameson Evans, and Joel Patrick. Preview was created with the intention of bringing together the worlds of art and technology in a way that enhances the art and the communities around it.
During the event, multiple subjects that connect the PIPA Institute to Brazilian contemporary art will be explored. Among the topics are the Institute’s years of operation; the “Displacement” collection; the exhibitions organized over these 12 years; the profile of the artists who have been nominated for the PIPA Prize and its changes, and the Selected Artists 2021.
