OPENING OF ‘PHOTO PAS PHOTO’ IN PARIS PRESENTED BY PARCOURS SAINT-GERMAIN AND PHOTO DAYS

The Parcours Saint-Germain presents, PHOTO PAS PHOTO, in collaboration with Photo Days and VIP partner of Paris+ by Art Basel. Join us in Paris for the opening night on Monday 17 October at the Café de Flore.

Contemporary art is characterised by a mixture of styles, methods, materials and concepts. No single ideology completely sums up today’s art, which is devoid of rules. We now live in a world of images and photography, so ubiquitous, is no longer experienced as a technique, but rather as an extension of our gaze. 

What can a contemporary artist who works with this medium do?

It is from this questioning that the Parcours Saint Germain and Photo Days have decided to collaborate. The selected works suggest a kind of genetic mutation of photography, which frees itself from its nature to become a hybrid form, the mixture of the most varied modes of artistic expression.

From 17 to 29 October 2022, this exhibition highlights artists who reinvent photography by imagining a new language, creating totally unexpected results. PHOTO PAS PHOTO is about photography stepping out of its box.
